Directing superintelligence

AI systems are rapidly improving and will eventually exceed human capabilities across most fields. Superintelligent AI will run most of the economy. If we can harness it, the upside is almost unimaginable. We can cure cancer, reverse aging, colonize the stars, and bring more intelligence to bear on humanity's problems than humanity has possessed across its entire existence. But we only get that future if we can actually direct this intelligence.

The more powerful AI becomes, the more important this gets. Getting it slightly more right becomes enormously valuable. Getting it slightly wrong becomes enormously dangerous. Even today, models hallucinate, ignore instructions, reward hack, and behave in unexpected ways. To get the behavior we want, people have to learn how each model works, how to prompt it, which settings and tools to use, and how to work around its failure modes. Then the models change and we do it all again.

We want to automate that. We want to understand how different intelligences behave, predict what they will do, and learn how to steer them. Over time, the complexity underneath should disappear. You tell us what you want. We figure out which intelligence to use and how to get it to do what you intended. Superintelligence will drive most economic and technological progress. Whoever builds the layer through which humanity directs it will sit at the center of that economy. We're building that layer.
